Flatpackathon! 🤣

I am not much of a photographer even with these new fangled smart phones and most the time I forget to take pictures before and after however as luck would have it I have now collected enough to post a selection of the flat packs I have built over the last twelve months, some of them were new out the box and some were bought second hand without any distructions!

This must have been the best trampoline I have built so far, it was massive, literally and had been sitting in two large boxes for three months waiting for someone to construct it.

This was one of two pieces of equipment I built at Derry Matthews Boxing Academy, Marybone, I can confirm this is still being used heavily everyday including by me.

The second piece of equipment was a rowing machine, again still being used but unfortunately true to form, I forgot to take the final photo.

I had the pleasure of collecting this wardrobe from Bootle and delivering it to Aigburgh, and on delivery established I was needed to reconstruct it.

This is one of probably seven or eight sliding wardrobes I have built over the last twelve months.

I was asked to help rescue this loft bed, the customer had made a start and had got unstuck, she had done a good job so far but unfortunately she had ground to a halt unsure what to do.

The problem with second hand furniture with no instructions is that it is pretty much trial and error with some of the bolts and fixings until you get it right. A little patience and an extra cuppa is crucial on these builds.

This last year I was introduced to Ottoman beds, quite a few of them, this one was great fun, the customer helped supplying me with the appropriate fixings as I proceeded to built it, she wanted it built like yesterday for her daughter but she was on the clock with a work related appointment so rather than reschedule, she got stuck in helping me and I still got a cuppa and chokkie biccies.

I was asked to collect this for a customer and informed it was only a double wardrobe, then the customer panicked and thought I would be unable to transport it in my then trusty Volvo estate.

The most challenging issue was the confined space I needed to build this in, the kids who reside in this room loved it, the doors had been dismantled so I literally had to build them upright which wasn’t ideal.

This was a Christmas present awaiting it’s brave new future.

This came with a glass top, double socket and usb points and I thought the hair dryer mount was a nice finishing touch.

This was just a simple desk and lamp, apparently with the drawers on the right hand side.

It works better this way.

This must be the best loft bed I have built yet, it’s some rig and all steel, again I didn’t have much room to work in.

The only thing missing from this picture is the television being mounted on the frame, unfortunately the telly in the room was too big so I will return when a smaller one has been found.

Maybe in the next twelve months I can collate enough photographs to publish Flatpackathon 2, in the meantime if you need my help please get in touch either via social media or text/WhatsApp me on 07873 565498.
