Top Shelf 🤣

Today like many, I was having a quiet Monday, Liverpool FC had just secured their position as champions of the Premier league yesterday so I was feeling a little tender after the joyous celebrations.

This afternoon I was contacted by one of my regular rubbish removal customers asking if I could put any shelves up, I obviously replied yes but explained I wasn’t feeling that well today which is probably like most of Merseyside.

My customer explained that the job needs to be done today, it was for a photographic studio which will be in use tomorrow, after a little persuasion, although it was late in the day, I agreed to go along and put these shelves up.

When I arrived, I was greeted with sixteen shelves to be arranged symmetrically on an eighteen foot wall, after a little head scratching and a much needed cup of tea I got cracking.

I decided to put the top shelf up first and work my way down, well the first four shelves, it was only after this stage and standing back I realised I should have started taking photos from the beginning, you know what I am like.

It turns out that there was a handyman booked to arrive at 10am this morning but he had cancelled, probably feeling worse for wear, in all fairness to him, I was feeling fragile this morning, the customer was quite understanding but probably didn’t appreciate being left in the lurch and had spent most of the day phoning round trying to find someone to step in.

It probably took as long to measure and mark out the wall as it did to actually drill the holes and mount the shelves, the result speaks for itself, the customer likes it, that was the effect they were looking for and appreciated me stepping in at short notice.

Perfect timing, I had literally finished the job and my cuppa just as the cleaner had arrived, boss.
